Welcome to 6th Grade Keyboarding. I hope you will find the calendar below helpful for keeping up with the day to day activities we do in Keyboarding.
Students will learn how to use word processing skills more efficiently. For example, students learn how to change font style, size, color, use format painter; use cut, copy, and paste; use Word Art; add graphics to a document and manipulate the graphic within the document. Students will learn to change margins and print in landscape or portrait orientation. They will learn to use comments and spell check. Students also learn how to manipulate words in a document by using the alignment icons, change line spacing, using autonumber and bullets. And, finally they will learn to change the view of their window and work with the ruler.
Students will learn to proofread and work on skills to improve their proofreading abilities.
Students will improve how fast they keyboard by doing various speedbuilding activities.
Towards the end of the quarter, students will also learn to create a multimedia presentation. They will be responsible for researching an Ancient World topic and creating a slide show about that topic.
